About the Role
As a Procurement Specialist at Axis, you will support the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services across the organization. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and Finance to ensure purchases are cost-effective, timely, compliant, and aligned with business needs.
This role requires someone who is organized, detail-oriented, commercially aware, and comfortable managing multiple procurement activities in a fast-paced fintech environment.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day procurement activities, including purchase requests, purchase orders, supplier selection, and order tracking.
Partner with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing requirements, specifications, budgets, and delivery timelines.
Source products and services from qualified suppliers through research, competitive quotes, tenders, and negotiations.
Prepare and evaluate requests for quotation, proposals, and other procurement documents.
Compare supplier pricing, quality, lead times, terms, and service levels to support informed purchasing decisions.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions with suppliers.
Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier information, contracts, purchase orders, and supporting documentation.
Monitor purchase orders and supplier deliveries to ensure goods and services are received on time and according to requirements.
Coordinate with Finance to support invoice matching, payment processing, budget tracking, and resolution of purchasing discrepancies.
Support supplier onboarding, due diligence, performance reviews, and ongoing relationship management.
Ensure procurement activities follow company policies, approval processes, internal controls, and applicable regulations.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve purchasing processes, consolidate spend, and increase operational efficiency.
Support contract renewals, competitive bidding exercises, and procurement projects as needed.
Prepare procurement reports and provide updates on spend, savings, supplier performance, and open purchase orders.
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of procurement policies, procedures, and systems.
Qualifications
Experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, vendor management, or a similar role.
Experience managing purchase orders, supplier relationships, quotations, and procurement documentation.
Understanding of procurement processes, sourcing methods, contract terms, and purchasing controls.
Experience working with internal stakeholders across departments such as Finance, Operations, Technology, Legal, and People.
Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and supplier management skills.
High attention to detail and strong ability to maintain accurate records.
Ability to manage multiple requests, priorities, suppliers, and deadlines at the same time.
Strong judgment, professionalism, and ability to handle confidential commercial information.
Required Skills

Comfortable using procurement, ERP, accounting, contract management, or purchase order systems.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work in a fast-paced startup and fintech environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience in fintech, financial services, technology, SaaS, or startup companies.
Experience managing technology, software, professional services, facilities, marketing, or operational spend.
Familiarity with procurement platforms, ERP systems, expense management tools, or contract lifecycle management systems.
Experience with supplier risk assessments, third-party due diligence, and procurement compliance.
Knowledge of sourcing, category management, spend analysis, and cost-saving initiatives.
Experience supporting audits, internal controls, and procurement reporting.
Professional certification such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP), or similar is a plus.
